Finance Committee Member
Strategic perception: seeing the "big" picture; putting individual issues/events into context; understanding possible futures
Decision making: clear about what is appropriate for a Board or Committee to be deciding; able to exercise judgement about when a decision is needed; comfortable making difficult or unpopular decisions
Analytical understanding: digging below a headline, statistic or a report to identify further relevant performance measures or other dimensions of the issue to be addressed
Interacting with others: listening skills; persuasiveness and influence in a mixed group; sensitive to others' perspective and values; independent when required to be
Achieving results: focused on and able to reconcile/tolerate tensions between business needs and social purpose
Experience of working within financial management (accountancy, audit or management of a large budget) or an audit / regulatory environment would be advantageous
Experience of working in a medium / large organisation at a senior level or other experience which would give similar benefits.
Prior board level experience, or experience presenting to boards.
