Techno/Functional Business Architect - Mainframe Contract 6-12 Months. My client a leading name in their industry is in need of a talented and experienced Techno/Functional Business Architect to join their group on a contract basis.

My client is looking for a functional resource who will be a Business Consultant or Business Architect. Responsible for working with technical teams. The candidate should have a good technical background in mainframe etc. technologies listed below.

Successful candidates will have hands-on technical experience with mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMSDB/DC, for z/OS. You will also have experience designing architectures for highly available, highly scalable, and highly secure enterprise systems.
Customer facing skills, "Thought Leader" to represent strategies well within the customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices
Engaging with various teams e.g. development, infrastructure, security and IT operations teams at the client and identifying repeatable patterns and architectures for best-fit end states. You will articulate and execute technical strategies by working with my clients customer architect team and my client technical teams. You will have experience with tools and methodologies used to migrate mainframe workloads via hardware/middleware emulation, automated code conversion, and re-platforming; You will also have experience with analysing on-premises mainframe applications and data stores to formulate plans for modernizing workloads that achieve customer's desired business outcomes. This role will be remote at present and could be for duration of assignment. Candidates must be in Ireland to avail of the contract.
