Adecco have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Buyer/Planner to join our client, a growing and expanding business based in Galway.
The purpose of the role will be to manage and ensure supply of materials and other components in the most cost-effective way possible for the business.
Permanent Contract

The duties will include but not be limited to;

Manage inventory levels in line with set KPI's and monthly reporting on the status of stock.
You will be responsible for coordination of materials, purchasing and production scheduling and ensuring timely delivery of same.
Build strong relationships with new suppliers and existing suppliers ensuring regular performance meetings take place and evaluate costs.
Ensure any issues on delivery times are communicated and escalated to relevant stakeholders
Maintain, prepare, and release purchase orders.
Ensure that required materials are purchased to meet production schedule needs.
Establish and manage MRP system item planning parameters
Identify and challenge safety stock levels, MOQ's, component & Finished Goods lead-times as part of inventory management.
Regular analyse stock orders and take cost efficiency actions.
Price negotiations
Review inventory objectives and ensure problem solving to achieve such objectives
Preparing procurement reports for various stakeholders as required.

Skills & required experience;

Excellent negotiations and problem solving skills.
Procurement experience within the manufacturing industry
Experience in supplier management negotiation, and cost saving strategies.
Clear knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures.
Has implement process improvements and change management
Problem solver and excellent decision making skills
Strong Microsoft Office experience, particularly Excel
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative under minimal supervision
Team player
